Beets, 5 August 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

Germination barely started on 5 August, most cells still bare: one cluster of four seedlings on glassy crimson stems carrying thick narrow cotyledons, two of them still bent over in the emerging hook, and one seed lying loose in an empty cell.
