Turmeric, 20 August 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

One young shoot on 20 August, four broad blades rising from a single sheathing stalk with fine parallel veins and no branching network to narrow it further, the newest still furled and pale at the tip, in a ribbed cream bowl in low evening light.
