Penstemon, 7 September 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

A penstemon in low sun on 7 September, its top flower facing the camera head-on — a cerise-magenta bell flaring into five rounded lobes, the clean white throat streaked with fine crimson lines that run back into the tube — against a treeline lit gold.
