Peppers, 7 September 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

A New Mexico chile hangs alone on a fine thread against an off-white wall on 7 September, lopsided — three or four rounded bulges with deep creases between them down its left flank while the right falls in a clean line — its peduncle dried into a hook.
