Lettuce, 11 September 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

Lettuce Australe on 11 September, a bed of young open rosettes with no heart yet, their puckered yellow-green leaves deepening to wine-red at every tip and margin, every blade beaded with water. Soft overcast light, no shadow anywhere.
