The garden, 7 October 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

A dark olive-black snake lies in open S-curves on 7 October, a cream stripe down the center of its back and one low along each side, the dark between them broken into squarish checkers. Soft even light, dry curled leaves in rust and tan.
