The garden, 7 October 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

A slender gray-brown snake, finely checked along the flanks, lies in two and a half loose loops on 7 October, part of its coil lifted onto a single rust-red fallen leaf. Diffuse daylight, dry leaves, one corner of green clover.
