The garden, 7 October 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

Two snakes rest on a straw path strewn with curled maple and oak leaves on 7 October, the lower one looped in a flattened S nearly twice the length of the leaf its head is tucked beneath, three cream stripes running its dark back. Soft overcast light, no shadows.
