Christmas Cactus, 16 June 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

A Christmas cactus laid out loose and unpotted on 16 June, its chains of flat scallop-edged segments fanned out from a woody gray trunk that ends in a torn stump of roots, a tuft of pale bristles at every joint, under dull indoor light.
