Strawberries, 19 June 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

Early June strawberries on 19 June, caged under a dome of black mesh that glints wet where the sun strikes it, two scarlet blurs deep in the shade behind it, and out in full sun a bristly runner arcing across the compost with a tight bud at its tip.
