Onions, 25 June 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

Red onions on 25 June, six or eight to a bag and widely spaced, each a fan of hollow blue-green tubes off a neck already thickening and flushed faintly purple at soil level, their first leaves withered to straw and hanging limp in dry hazy sun.
