Geranium, 9 July 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

A zonal geranium on 9 July, four heads open as tight domes of hot scarlet each with a tiny paler eye, one standing well clear of the leaves and a fifth still a knot of red-tipped buds — the foliage soft and velvety, the dark horseshoe zone nowhere in it.
