Kale, 5 August 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

Brassica cotyledons just up on 5 August, thick and notched at the tip under a fine dusty bloom on short pale stems, one or two already unfolding a crumpled first leaf, and crimson-stemmed strangers in the cells beside them, most cells still bare.
