The photographs
Week of 22 JuneA newly set-out rosette on 23 June, ten or so narrow glossy blades tapering to fine points and many of them cupped or twisted out of true, not a tooth on any margin, alone in an otherwise bare bed in soft flat light after rain.Week of 6 JulyOne leggy seedling on its own on 9 July, all its new yellow-green growth crowded into the tip of a single stem with long bare stretches below, its glossy wavy-edged leaves flecked with dried spray, in low sun that throws a long soft shadow.
