Peppers, 9 July 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

Down to five or six leaves on 9 July, glossy and untoothed and each one beaded with dew, several bleached to whitish patches and one gone almost wholly yellow — the stem tip forked into a crowd of creamy-white buds, not one of them open, in hard low sun.
