Chives, 9 July 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

Garlic chives on 9 July, the leaves flat straps rather than tubes, each keeled shallowly down the middle and rising from a small pale base in a dry papery sheath — twenty of them arching out over a terracotta rim, several tips kinked over straw-yellow.
