Shallots, 12 July 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

About fifteen alliums on 12 July, each a papery golden bulb sitting right on the surface with a few wiry roots showing, their keeled leaves either standing tall or flopped flat on the ground — harsh midday sun, the top of the frame in tree shade.
