Hosta, 5 August 2026

One photograph from the 2026 season.

A cream-edged hosta in flower on 5 August, every blade quilted between ten deeply impressed veins and twisted to a point, with two bare scapes standing clear of the mound and one lilac trumpet open on them, rain still beaded under green light off the trees.
